Possible Causes

  • 1. Malfunction in CAN communication line between driver monitoring camera unit and vehicle control module (VCM) Note
  • Perform the malfunction diagnosis according to the troubleshooting procedure for the multiplex communication system. (See MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS FLOW [CONTROLLER AREA NETWORK (CAN)]

Detection condition
• The vehicle control module (VCM) detects a driver monitoring camera unit internal malfunction.
Fail-safe
Possible cause
1. Internal malfunction related DTCs are stored in the following modules.
― Vehicle control module (VCM) (See DTC TABLE [VCM].)
― Body control module (BCM) (See DTC TABLE [BCM].)
2. DTCs are stored in the driver monitoring camera unit. (See DTC TABLE [DMC].)
4. Vehicle control module (VCM) malfunction (built into body control module (BCM)) (Refer to [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in workshop manual.)
Repeatability verification procedure
1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.)
