System malfunction location

Foot-motion detection unit power supply voltage low or high input

Detection condition
• The power liftgate (PLG) control module detects the following conditions:
― Foot-motion detection unit detects that the power supply circuit voltage is the standard value or less
― Foot-motion detection unit detects that the power supply circuit voltage is the standard value or more
Fail-safe
• Stops the hands-free liftgate operation.
Possible cause
1. DTCs are stored in the following modules.
― PCM (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G)].) (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-X)].) (See DTC TABLE [PCM (SKYACTIV-G 2.5T)].)
― DC-DC converter(See DTC TABLE [DCDC].)
― BECM/Mazda M Hybrid Boost battery/Mazda M Hybrid battery (See DTC TABLE [MHB].)
― Drive motor control module/Integrated starter generator (ISG) (See DTC TABLE [ISG].)
― ECM
2. Battery/lead-acid battery malfunction (Refer to [BATTERY INSPECTION] in workshop manual.)
3. Generator malfunction (except e-SKYACTIV PHEV/e-SKYACTIV EV/Mazda M Hybrid) (Refer to [GENERATOR INSPECTION] in workshop manual.)
4. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between foot-motion detection unit and body ground (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION.) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION.)
5. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between battery/lead-acid battery and foot-motion detection unit (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION.) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION.)
Repeatability verification procedure
1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.)
