DTC Lookup

Detection condition

• The electrical supply unit (ESU) detects a short to ground in the trunk lid latch switch/liftgate latch switch circuit for a continuous 2 times.

Precondition

• The trunk lid/liftgate closed (trunk lid latch switch/liftgate latch switch off).

Fail-safe

• Not applicable

Possible cause

1. Trunk lid latch switch/liftgate latch switch malfunction (Refer to [TRUNK LID LATCH AND RELEASE ACTUATOR INSPECTION] in workshop manual.) (Refer to [LIFTGATE LATCH AND LOCK ACTUATOR INSPECTION] in workshop manual.)

2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between trunk lid latch and release actuator/liftgate latch and lock actuator and electrical supply unit (ESU) (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION.) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION.)

3. Electrical supply unit (ESU) malfunction (Refer to [ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (ESU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in workshop manual.)

4. Body control module (BCM) malfunction (Refer to [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in workshop manual.)

Repeatability verification procedure

1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.)

2. Close the trunk lid/liftgate.

2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between liftgate latch and lock actuator and power liftgate (PLG) control module (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION.) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION.)

3. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between power liftgate (PLG) control module and electrical supply unit (ESU) (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION.) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION.)

4. Power liftgate (PLG) control module malfunction (Refer to [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in workshop manual.)

5. Electrical supply unit (ESU) malfunction (Refer to [ELECTRICAL SUPPLY UNIT (ESU) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in workshop manual.)

6. Body control module (BCM) malfunction (Refer to [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in workshop manual.)

Repeatability verification procedure
