Detection condition
|
• The body control module (BCM) detects a short to ground in the trunk lid opener switch/liftgate opener switch circuit.
Preconditions
• The trunk lid opener switch/liftgate opener switch is off

Possible cause
|
1. Trunk lid opener switch/liftgate opener switch malfunction (Refer to [TRUNK LID OPENER SWITCH INSPECTION] in workshop manual.) (Refer to [POWER LIFTGATE (PLG) DRIVE UNIT INSPECTION] in workshop manual.)
2. Malfunction in wiring harness (including connector/terminal) between trunk lid opener switch/liftgate opener switch and body control module (BCM) (See CIRCUIT INSPECTION.) (See CONNECTOR INSPECTION.)
3. Body control module (BCM) malfunction (Refer to [BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in workshop manual.)

Repeatability verification procedure
|
1. Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.)
2. Turn the trunk lid opener switch/liftgate opener switch off.
3. Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on)/main power ON (READY off or on) and wait for 2 min or more.
