• The SAS control module configuration has not been set.
• The SAS control module configuration setting has not been done correctly.
• The SAS control module configuration has been set, but the air bag system is not normal.

• The SAS control module stores DTCs other than B0003:53.(Air bag system malfunction)
• SAS control module configuration setting is not implemented or SAS control module configuration setting malfunction

PURPOSE: VERIFY SAS CONTROL MODULE DTCs
• Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module. (See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Are any DTCs other than this DTC displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.

PURPOSE: PERFORM SAS CONTROL MODULE CONFIGURATION
• Perform the configuration for the SAS control module using the M-MDS. (See CONFIGURATION.)
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.)
• Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module. (See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
If any other DTCs are displayed
• Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [SAS].)
If any other DTCs are not displayed
• Perform repair completion verification 2.
Repair completion verification 1
PURPOSE: VERIFY IF VEHICLE IS REPAIRED
• Install/connect the part removed/disconnected during the troubleshooting procedure.
• Clear the DTC recorded in the memory. (See CLEARING DTC.)
• Perform the DTC inspection for the SAS control module. (See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Refer to the CAN (controller area network) malfunction diagnosis flow to inspect for a CAN communication error.
If the CAN communication is normal, perform the diagnosis from Step 1 again.
• If the malfunction is not resolved, replace the SAS control module, then go to the next step. (Refer to [SAS CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION] in workshop manual.)
No
Go to the next step.
Repair completion verification 2
PURPOSE: VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs ARE DISPLAYED
• Perform the DTC inspection. (See DTC INSPECTION.)
• Are other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
